New Housing Works begin

Further house building projects have started in Wakefield recently as the government looks at ways to reduce the housing shortfall which has left councils across Yorkshire down on their required new build numbers. The figure required is one million nationwide by 2020, with a large proportion of these homes required in the Yorkshire region.

Developments in Wakefield well underway

Mandale Homes, the housebuilder contracted to developing the aforementioned properties has already begun working on a new gated community which will include eight new homes spaced across a one acre village site in Horbury, near Wakefield.

Mandale Homes typically deal with developments which are primarily focused on building smaller groupings of homes around the north of England. With five residential sites underway, Mandale Homes work within similar boundaries to us here at Wakefield Garage Doors.

The group of homes, which will be known as ‘Calder Green’ are already receiving a great deal of interest from potential buyers with properties starting at around £320k. The new houses will be built on a ground which was taken up by a large house boasting several gardens until its demolition, guaranteeing the new tenants brilliant scenery.

Benefits to the area

The new project will boast all the benefits of village life whilst holding a key location nearby to the necessities that Wakefield can provide. Not only is the area quiet but convenient, no sacrifices have been made by way of travelling to work. With excellent transport links to nearby cities such as Leeds, the new residents of Calder Green will not find commuting a difficult task. Mandale have been praised for their attention to detail with the cluster of properties that they develop with many aspects of the properties being true to their surroundings.

Further works

In more building news, Housebuilder Strata have agreed to build 116 new homes within the Merchant Gate development in the centre of Wakefield. The new buildings, which are situated right next to Wakefield Westgate will comprise of a mix of 100 two-bedroom townhouses, each with a garage, and 16 affordable two-bedroom apartments. This will include the Livorno style, a three floor townhouse, which is Strata’s best-selling home.
